General Questions
Is Edit Pdf Locally free?
Yes. Edit Pdf Locally is free to use. There is no registration, subscription or payment required to use the available editing features.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can open the website and start using the PDF editor without creating an account.
Does the editor show advertisements?
No. Edit Pdf Locally is designed to provide a PDF editing experience without advertisements.
Does the editor add watermarks?
The application does not intentionally add watermarks to downloaded PDF documents.
PDF Editing Features
Can I find and replace text in a PDF?
Yes. Choose Find & Replace, enter the text you want to find, and provide the replacement text. You can search the whole document or the current page.
Can I edit existing words in a PDF?
Yes. Choose Edit Text, select a word or phrase in the PDF preview, make your changes and save them.
Can I add new text to a PDF?
Yes. Choose Add Text, click the desired position on the PDF page and enter your text. You can configure font, size, colour, bold and italic formatting.
Does the editor preserve the original layout?
The editor attempts to preserve the surrounding layout when text is modified. The result can vary depending on the PDF's fonts, formatting and structure. Always review the downloaded document before using it.
Can I edit multi-page PDFs?
Yes. You can navigate through PDF pages using the page controls and work with the available editing features.
Can I edit scanned PDF documents?
Scanned PDFs generally contain images of text rather than selectable text. They require OCR (Optical Character Recognition) before their text can be searched or selected by this editor. OCR is not currently included in the application.
Which characters can I add to a PDF?
The current Add Text feature supports Latin letters, numbers and common symbols. Support for other characters may depend on the selected font.
Privacy and Security
Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF editing and processing take place locally in your browser. PDF document contents are not sent to our feedback and usage analytics database.
What information does the website collect?
The website records optional Helpful and Not Helpful reactions, Browse PDF clicks and downloads initiated through the application. These events are stored in Cloudflare D1 for aggregate usage statistics. Please read our Privacy Policy for details.
Are the feedback buttons mandatory?
No. Feedback is optional. You can use the PDF editor and download your document without submitting a reaction.

Can I use the PDF editor on mobile?
The website is designed to work on mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers. The experience may vary depending on screen size and browser support.
Which browser should I use?
We recommend using an up-to-date browser that supports modern JavaScript features. Browser compatibility may vary.
How do I download my edited PDF?
After making an edit, select Download. The application generates the edited PDF in your browser and initiates the download.
Can I undo or redo an edit?
Yes. Use the Undo and Redo buttons to navigate through your recent editing changes, subject to the application's history limit.
